I shot at Six String not all that long after they’d opened. It had been a long process for them with a mile of red tape and complaint to get through before they could get going. It was a great set up, with a light show on the huge metal fermenters, a cool timber bar and intimate seating areas to consume a drink or to, or their pretty impressive food. I was excited at the time to hear their chef was Simon Leese whose food I had previously photographed. Simon’s food plus the impressive venue – a towering warehouse space filled with gleaming metal, bright lights and polished timber – made for some great shots. Especially those “growlers in the mist”.
